LENTILS within a dessert? You imagine I’m crazy? Strange? Cute? Maybe from the combo.

We’ll reach this dessert quickly. To begin with, it’s Friday!

I haven’t slept all freaking week. I wish I had been kidding. I am preparing for the release of a brand new site for function and so we have been active plugging away, keeping late, and chugging espresso. I’ve been trying to get back into working out after going for a little over a week off. Yesterday evening I visited my favorite yoga exercise sculpt course. Ummmm you men… it had been natural hell and I mean that in the best way possible. I literally thought I would throw up on my yoga exercises mat, and that never happens if you ask me (sorry for being so descriptive). I assume that’s what happens following a week of vacation wine and cookie inhaling.

Today We rewarded myself with a little dark hot chocolate. I figured which i haven’t had a genuine hot delicious chocolate in age groups, and I experienced like I required a sweet treat to maintain me going. Without a doubt, it was SO worthwhile. I even topped mine with extra whipped cream. It’s important to treat you to ultimately a little indulgence; I hope you all perform the same this weekend!

So here it goes: These bars are virtually the fudgiest peanut butter delicious chocolate chip blondie EVER. You can’t even taste the lentils – all you get is really a chewy, fudgy pub filled with peanut butter taste. YES, it’s true.

What’s unique concerning this recipe would be that the lentils are cooked then pureed using the peanut butter, as a result you don’t end up getting chunks of lentils in your pub. I used reddish lentils as they possess a sweeter flavor than green, nevertheless, you can use everything you have on hand. I usually buy them from Investor Joe’s or Entire Foods.

I also made an interesting discovery after baking these bars: they are amazing frozen! Usually everytime I bake, I must freeze my goodies so I don’t eat all of them. Ingredients

1/2 cup reddish colored lentils

1/2 cup all-natural creamy or crunchy peanut butter (I like Trader Joe’s)

1/3 cup natural maple syrup

1 tablespoon real vanilla extract

1 cup gluten free of charge rolled oats

1/2 teaspoon cooking soda

1/4 teaspoon ocean salt

1/3 cup mini vegan chocolate chips, plus 2 tablespoons for sprinkling on top (I use Enjoy Life brand)

Instructions

In a little saucepan, combine lentils and 1 cup of water; provide to a boil. Reduce temperature, cover, and simmer for 10-15 a few minutes or until lentils are smooth. Transfer lentils to some food processor, add a few tablespoons of water, then process until lentils certainly are a clean puree; set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Apply 9×9 inch cooking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

We made these. Exceptional! In future I will make use of peanut butter powder to make the recipe lower in fat. I used half agave nectar and fifty percent maple syrup. Agave is cheaper, lol. I crave sweets often and I’m happy there are dishes for healthy deserts like these brownies. I’m an enormous lover of lentils and like all types. I used green lentils within this recipe and they worked out well.

I actually also made the Moroccan lentil butternut squash stew and it tasted so wonderful!
