Sometimes in life you do things you aren’t proud of. Like that period I visited Chick-Fil-A and purchased their poultry nuggets because I was starving. At the moment little poultry nuggets (bites of childhood happiness) dipped in BBQ sauce sounded absolutely tremendous. Just what a mistake that was! The chicken nuggets were coated in a absurd amount grease (I literally had butterfingers) and the breading wasn’t crispy, but instead soggy. The complete meal just tasted like hydrogenated oils. I sensed like I was committing a crime against my center.

Ew… I know. Perhaps since it was one of those days where I was really hungry, pressured, and greasy chicken breast nuggets seemed to rationalize hating my work. While rummaging through the pantry, I found a container of Honey Bunches of Oats, and starting thinking to myself that they might be incredible on chicken; they’re sugary, crunchy and have a somewhat nutty flavor in the almonds. Basically they’re honey cornflakes! And who doesn’t wish to place cereal on everything around the corner? My thoughts exactly.

I knew I wanted my poultry tenders to become extremely damp because I really despise dry flavorless chicken. So, I marinated my chicken in nonfat simple greek yogurt and honey. If you wish to make these honey mustard flavored all you need to do is all just a little dijon mustard for your marinade.

Ingredients

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Rinse your poultry breasts whitening strips and pat dry with a paper towel; reserve. Add greek yogurt, honey, salt, and dijon mustard (if desired) to a large bowl. Place poultry into bowl and toss to coat each in yogurt, cover with plastic cover and place in fridge for 20 minutes.

Next, place 1/2 of the crushed cereal within a zip loc bag and add 1/2 from the yogurt covered poultry to the handbag, shaking to layer. Remove and place on large greased baking sheet then repeat with second half of the cereal and poultry.

Spray the chicken with cooking spray and bake for 20-25 a few minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.

Baking time will depend on what size or thick your chicken tenders are. Examine after 20 minutes for small tenders. These may also be made into chicken nuggets, just cut chicken into smaller cube like items before marinating.
